The film tells a story about a peddler named Gouren and a kid named Maodou. Gouren seeks revenge over the loss of his child, while Maodou continues his journey to look for his father. Gouren and Madou’s relationship evolves from being resentful towards one another into a somewhat sweet father-son bond. During Gouren’s journey towards redemption. Hope slowly begins to kindle within him, with the feeling of revenge fading away day by day. All while, Maodou develops a sense of true belonging and understanding.
